Choose the pet-supported preset for solo progress and sustained pet uptime, or the Marksmanship preset when you intend to fight without a pet. Both are complete level-60 allocations; encounter movement and target access determine how well their damage plans work.
Unleashed Fury, Ferocity and Frenzy concentrate damage in the pet; Intimidation and Bestial Wrath give controlled combat windows. Improved Revive Pet helps recover mistakes and Bestial Discipline supports pet focus. Marksmanship adds Lethal Attacks, Careful Aim and four ranks of Mortal Shots to strengthen the Hunter’s own attacks.
Lone Wolf explicitly rewards fighting without a pet. Trueshot Aura, Mortal Shots, Ranged Weapon Specialization and Sniper Shot build the ranged damage package, while Rapid Killing and Rapid Recuperation reward favorable kill windows. Survival contributes Improved Tracking, Survivalist and Surefooted for damage conditions, health and hit support.
Choose a pet for the task, not just its appearance: reliable threat and durability help solo pulls; control or party utility may matter more in a group. Check its learned abilities, level and ability to reach the enemy. These 51 points belong to the Hunter; pet training is a separate system and is not an extra tree in this calculator.
Keep Auto Shot working while fitting your available shots around movement and range. Maintain a suitable sting when the target will live long enough, use the build’s key shot, and avoid spending mana on attacks that will not land before the enemy dies. Command a pet onto the correct target before opening hard; a pet stranded behind terrain contributes no Frenzy uptime.
Beast Mastery depends on an active, attacking pet. Marksmanship emphasizes ranged scaling and can choose Lone Wolf to remove that dependency. Survival now includes pronounced melee tools alongside traps; it is not simply another stationary ranged preset. Compare your expected range and control needs before moving points.

“You deal 20% increased damage with all attacks while you do not have an active pet.”

Data sources and limitationsLone Wolf’s damage bonus requires that you have no active pet. Choose the Beast Mastery preset when pet pressure or pet tanking is central to the plan; use the Lone Wolf preset for its intended petless ranged setup.
No. The three trees here allocate the Hunter’s own points. Pet-related player talents modify the pet, but selecting or training a pet’s abilities is separate from this allocation.
Summon Hawk shares a cooldown with Arcane Shot in this beta data. Treat them as competing uses of that cooldown and choose according to your build and the target, rather than planning to fire both in the same window.
No. Traps remain relevant, but the tree also adds melee-oriented talents such as Strider Kick and Lacerating Strikes. Read those tooltips before choosing Survival for a fight where you cannot stay in melee range.
